If you're interested in obtaining a concealed carry weapon (CCW) permit, one of the first steps is to find a reputable CCW class that meets your needs. With so many options out there, it can be overwhelming to figure out where to start. In this blog, we'll provide some tips on how to find the right CCW class using popular keywords.
  1. Research online: One of the easiest ways to find CCW classes in your area is to do a quick online search using keywords such as "CCW classes near me," "concealed carry permit classes," or "CCW training courses." This will give you a list of options to choose from.
  2. Check with local gun stores and ranges: Another great way to find CCW classes is to check with local gun stores and ranges. Many of these businesses offer CCW classes or can refer you to a reputable instructor.
  3. Look for reviews and ratings: Once you've found a few CCW classes that interest you, take some time to read reviews and ratings from previous students. This can give you an idea of what to expect from the class and the instructor.
  4. Check the instructor's credentials: When choosing a CCW class, it's important to check the instructor's credentials to ensure they are qualified and experienced. Look for instructors who are certified by reputable organizations such as the National Rifle Association (NRA) or the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA).
  5. Consider the curriculum: Different CCW classes may cover different topics, so it's important to consider the curriculum when choosing a class. Look for classes that cover firearm safety, legal considerations, and self-defense techniques.
  6. Check the class schedule and availability: Finally, make sure the CCW class you choose fits into your schedule and is available when you need it. Some classes may require multiple sessions, so make sure you have the time to complete the course.

Keep in mind that NYS requires 18 hours of training for the CCW license, so make sure that you find a class that will keep you engaged.

The classroom option isn't for everyone, so She Trains You, Inc. offers in-home and on-site classes with the option of renting a private range.

I like how you said that you can search online for classes in your area. My brother was at my house yesterday afternoon for lunch, and he talked about how he wants to look into taking CCW classes within the next couple of weeks, so he was wondering how to find the right courses. I'll pass these tips along to him so he can find the right place to go to for CCW classes.
